Prospect Mountain High School Girls' Varsity Tennis Coach Tom Hayward is offering free tennis clinics to girls in grades 7-12 who want to learn the game.
When: Clinics will be held every Tues and Thursday from 5:30 – 6:30 (weather permitting) during the month of June. Players are welcome to attend as their availability allows.
Specific dates are as follows:
Tuesdays: June 10 th , 17 th , and 24 th
Thursdays: June 12 th , 19 th , and 26 th
Where: At the tennis courts at Prospect Mountain High School. We have 4 courts located in the back by the soccer fields.
Who: For any girl in grades 7 -12 who live in the Barnstead/Alton/Pittsfield area.
Why: The purpose of these free clinics is to introduce girls in the Barnstead/Alton/Pittsfield area to the game of tennis in the hope of eventually creating a competitive girl’s tennis program at the high school. For those who already know how to play, it is a chance to refine and improve on your skills.
During the clinics, the focus will be on skill acquisition and competitive play. The design of the clinics will vary according to ability and numbers but involve numerous drills, competitions and fun activities whose sole purpose is to make the experience enjoyable. Rackets will be available to any girl who doesn’t have one at no cost.
